KAKRAO TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

The plan of this institution was mutted in 2014 and the following year, 2015 construction began and later stalled in 2017 due to inadequate finance from the ministry.
Work began 2018 for the completion and later the first principal Mr. Felix Barclays Odhiambo was posted on 20th December by the department of Vocational and Technical Training
to be in charge of the institution. Kakrao TVC is a Public Institution managed by the National Government through Board of Governors appointed by the Cabinet Secretary in charge
of the ministry of Education in the Republic of Kenya. Sitting on a 2.2 Hactares of land, it is loacted in the outskirts of Migori town,in Suna East Sub County about 3 km from town
Centre and about 365 km from Nairobi,Kenya's capital city. Kakrao TVC is emerging as an academic excellence hub within wide range of newly established and flourishing courses.

As a certified institution by the Technical Vocational and Education Training Authority, Kakrao TVC is committed to providing affordable, accessible, suitable and quality training by ensuring our services are effective and effecient which meets clients expectations. To achieve this, the college has established quality objectives that stakeholders will review from time to time. Some of the recent development include an ongoing construction of building and automotive workshop where they will undertake their practical. Kakrao TVC offers a diverse array of training programs from Artisan,Craft Certificate,Diploma and a Higher Diploma with a total of 80 members of teaching and non-teaching staff. Trainees can choose courses in Building and Civil Engineering, Agriculture and Environmental Studies, Business Studies, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Infromation Communication Technology and Hopitality courses examined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) and Curriculum Development Accreditation and Certification Council (CDACC). Kakrao TVC also enjoys partnership with regulatory bodies like Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), Kenya National Audit Unit (KENAU).

The Technical has embraces Competency Based Education Training (CBET) in the institution to ensure relevance in curriculum delivery. We have also invested in modernizing teaching and learning facilities to create an environment conducive for training. Harnessing the blue economy resourses, Kakrao TVC would like to partner with relevant authorities to improve on the ongoing research of the water hyacinth dilema and how it can be used in garment making
